Independent Studies Project

(Fruit Preservation)

This is the page where I write about my Independent Studies Project. I am in Category 1  (Experimental) and we are doing a project on fruit preservation. The group consists of 4 people, 2 from my class (1A4), and another two from 1P1. The members are: Keefe (1A4), Bryan (1A4), Andrew (1P1) and Javen (1P1).
Our aim is to find out which type of tea can preserve the red apple best for the longest duration. Our hypothesis is that Jasmine Green Tea would be able to preserve the red apples for the longest period of time.We use red apples as the test subject as it is a commonly found fruit, easily available, and has a large audience. We also hope to better enhance the taste of the fruit.
We conducted two experiments altogether. The first experiment was conducted using tea solution while the second experiment was conducted using tea leaves as suggested by the judges.
This project has got us into the Finals and I am quite satisfied with the results. Although we could not enter the Grand Finals, which actually seemed impossible to us, at least we managed to get into the Finals. I just hope that my Project journal and the web report would be enough to pull my Projects Competitions mark to at least an A grade. I aim for at least an A2 for Independent Studies. My project this year went quite well. Hopefully, I would be able to achieve even better grades for my Independent Studies Project next year. Good Luck!
